RIP Alexander McQueen

You have always inspired me. When I saw a photo of the leather jacket you designed for fall 2006 I fell in love with your work and because of your aesthetic I decided I wanted to make fashion. I have dedicated my life to your aesthetic and have dreamed about interning at your house. My designs and my style grew from your inspiration. You were my role model as a designer and an artist and you were my idol. During every fashion week I would watch your show first and then watch the others. By comparison, the other designers' collections were dull, too wearable, and uninspired. You were a true and brilliant artist and your work was always beautiful and experimental. You aesthetic will always continue to inspire me.
My collection for this year's show is dedicated to you.

Fashionable Music Videos

Because I getting the photos for project runway is taking way too long for some reason, tonight I will post about recent music videos that are influencial in the fashion world today.
We all know that music and fashion go hand in hand so I wanted to give a high five to Lady Gaga for being the modern fashion icon and for wearing Alexander McQueen's Spring collection in her music video. Also a video of Raquel Zimmerman dancing to Poker Face in a Gareth Pugh Gown.

Hussein Chalayan

Because its a monday and mondays tend to be such horrible days for people I have decided to brighten this monday up by going back to the year 2007 where one of the best highlights in fashion happened. I think it is critical to note that fashion design in itself is a business more than an art and it is very close to technology as well as history and economics. Technology plays a big role in fashion design because it determines color, textiles, textures etc. And I think that one of the best moments in fashion happened in the Hussein Chalayan pret-a-porter couture collections in 2007 where he used technology in fashion design literally. He actually woe wires into the textiles in order to get the textiles to move. So I would now like to say thank you Hussein Chalayan for being amazing and making the fashion world very innovative and interesting.
I love you!
